Course Overview & Target Audience:

This course will review the evolution of MBSAQIP since its inception in 2013 as well as feature MBSAQIP surgeon committee leaders, MBSAQIP staff, & particular MBSAQIP centers & leaders who have achieved innovation & quality though their respective programs. In addition, MBSAQIP surgeon surveyors will conduct a “Town Hall” type of approach for questions & answers related to the site visit process. The target audience is any/all personnel involved in the MBSAQIP or those centers who may desire to become an MBSAQIP-accredited center.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review the history & current state of the MBSAQIP
  • Review best practices & innovative projects & practices by MBSAQIP Accredited Centers & surgeon leaders
  • Identify areas of deficiencies & compliance with the MBSAQIP triennial site visit process
