Overview and Taarget Audience

Bariatric surgery is an exciting specialty within surgery. With shifting US population, demographics studies have shown the importance of more racial/ethnic diversity among healthcare professionals. This could lead to improved access to care, communication, and health care decision making for patients. This session will discuss the importance and benefits of diversity and inclusion in the health care profession including our society. Specifically, speakers will address the following topics:
