Dr. Gorica Petrovich is an associate professor with tenure in the Department of Psychology at Boston College. She is a recipient of Pavlovian Research Award, Alan N. Epstein Research Award, and has a Fellow status in the APA. Petrovich research team uses rodent models to study how cognitive and hedonic processes drive the motivation to eat beyond physiological needs and the underlying neural network plasticity mechanisms. This work in animals is relevant to our understanding the neural control of human appetite and how environmental influences could cause maladaptive eating.
