Owen P. McGuinness received his BS in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his PhD in Physiology at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He has spent the last 30 years as Professor in the department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt University and Associate Director of the Vanderbilt Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center. His research examines the impact of inflammation on hepatic and muscle carbohydrate metabolism.
